Samhain/Halloween:
Witchy fun, spirits close by.
A night for magic.

Colors have muted:
Amber, russet, bronze; subtle,
Yet no less lovely.

Haikus ebb and flow.
Inspiration comes and goes.
Like Cleveland sunshine.

Grey, rainy morning
Matches my mood perfectly.
I need sunshine - BAD!

Amish hardware store:
wood stoves, apple peelers and
Pairs of suspenders.

Autumn, you hussy-
Flashing your vivid colors:
"Hey, sailor, look here!"

Morning sun on hills
Upholstered in orange,
Embroidered red.

Haikus come to me
At strange times. They write themselves.
I am eye and scribe.

Do not fight the cold.
Inhale. Bring the chill inward.
Taste the new season.
