Mayans said, "It ends."
Earth says, "Not yet, still turning;
Get that shopping done!"

Grief like a river
You must swim across, careful
So as not to drown.
I cannot dive in.
There are others I care for
Who depend on me.
They cling to my arms,
Together we wade, slowly;
Feet step, tears flowing.
The other bank, dim;
Peace and memories lie there
Waiting to be found.
We can make it there,
But first we must be willing
To get ourselves wet.
You must swim across, careful
So as not to drown.
I cannot dive in.
There are others I care for
Who depend on me.
They cling to my arms,
Together we wade, slowly;
Feet step, tears flowing.
The other bank, dim;
Peace and memories lie there
Waiting to be found.
We can make it there,
But first we must be willing
To get ourselves wet.

I know who you are,
Though I cannot remember
I should know your name.
***
Pain grabs and frightens;
What is this inside of me?
I am not myself.
***
Slow down and let go;
Float into an unknown sea
Surrounded by love.
Though I cannot remember
I should know your name.
***
Pain grabs and frightens;
What is this inside of me?
I am not myself.
***
Slow down and let go;
Float into an unknown sea
Surrounded by love.
