All of a sudden
Orange flashes all over,
Contrasts with the green.

Hot afternoon, like
Summer, but mums and asters
Tell another tale.

To-do list: daunting;
Will is strong, eyelids are weak.
Will wins; thanks, coffee!

Five-thirty wake up.
Night-dark, chilly and silent.
Wait; why am I up?

Sleepless nights for me.
My brain wrestles with worries,
Trying to find peace.

Inevitable.
Splash of red on the maple
And geese flying south.

My barometer,
The tree outside my window.
Branches shift and sway.

Imperceptibly,
A shift from green to golden
As summer exits.

A day spent writing
Seems like such a luxury.
Filled with gratitude.

Suddenly I see
Trees heavy with red apples.
Autumn teasing me.

Tree-trimming service
Grinding away peacefulness.
Next time, try beavers!

My agenda died.
Suffocated by brain fog;
Back-to-school mo(u)rning.

Cool, fall-ish morning;
Does school really start this week?
Where ARE the backpacks?

Sunshine-summer gone?!
This morning feels like autumn.
Sorry I complained.

Dentist appointment.
Insurance says: use Aspen.
Not after today!

Drowsy August morn.
Alarm bells! School starting soon!
Back to the hammock.

Toilet overflows,
Leaks through the ceiling below.
Where is my house elf?

Mosquito bites tell
The story of the weekend
In itchy, red Braille.

Monday bones move slow,
Recalling each weed pull'd,
But each flower, too.

Too much froggy-love,
Amphibian overload.
Relocation time.
